Ahead of the 2022 election in Ekiti, the DG Bureau of Labour and Productivity, Lanre Ogunjobi, has resigned over the alleged imposition of Biodun Oyebanji as the candidate of the APC.
Taking to Facebook to announce his resignation, Ogunjobi said he has resolved not to be a slave to anyone. See what he wrote below;
“TIME TO SAY GOOD BYE FOR AWHILE
In view of the shenanigans and circus shows going around, I’ve decided to quit politics for now and concentrate on my job at FUOYE.
As true Catholics and Christ followers, it seems that most times, we don’t practice what we preach and the lectures we deliver.
Henceforth, I will step aside and watch events as they unfold, but I know that God is a just God and would deliver Ekiti from the ensnarement of slave masters.
Some people have deliberately decided to keep Ekiti Kete as their slaves, who should be forcefed as a mother feeds a new born baby.
I’ve resolved not to be slave to anyone, but to be true to my conscience. May God have mercy on us to think of others and be fair and just in all that we do.
Amen.. It’s happy Sunday to you all
Note: My Tete’-a-tete’, however, will not stop.”
The post has since drawn massive reactions on the social media platform, with some government aide describing Ogunjobi as an ingrate. See some reactions gathered by KikioTolu News below;
