….as security agencies meet to re-strategize against criminalities, call for more community support
With the recent rise in cases of kidnapping in the state, Heads of security agencies in Ekiti State have advocated for members of the public, community heads and traditional rulers to intensify efforts to provide more useful information about the State of security in their environments.
The commissioner of police, Ekiti State police command, CP Tunde Mobayo made this call while taking questions from journalists ahead of the August edition of the meeting of heads of all security agencies in Ekiti State on Tuesday, August 10, 2021.
He noted that these information from the grassroot will guide the force and other security outfits on preventive measures against crime as well as apprehending perpetrators of crimes.
He revealed that he has directed DPO’s in various communities to conduct patrols with members of the public.
The special adviser to governor kayode Fayemi on security matters, brigadier general Ebenezer Ogundana in his own remarks, appraised the relationship and tactics of the security agencies in the state and disclosed that they will employ a different strategy towards the recent rising spate kidnapping and to mitigate crime in Ekiti State.

According to him, Ekiti State is doing fairly well in terms of safety, the security outfits foil about ten attempted crimes or apprehend perpetrators for every crime that is being reported in Ekiti.
Brigadier General Ogundana Rtd revealed that the state government is also intensify efforts to protect the lives and properties of Ekiti residents by investing in security equipment and initiatives such as the safe city.
He commended the amotekun corps and others for the joint efforts to fight against crimes while seeking support from others such as the vigilante groups and hunters.
While The Corp commander of Ekiti State amotekun corps, General Joe komolafe rtd maintained that his men are on ground in various forest to curb the menace of insecurity.
