The Ekiti State Cadet teams has been invited to take part in the sixth edition of the Jos Chillin’ Football Tournament holding in Jos, the Plateau State capital.
Jos Chillin is organized by Mees Palace Football Academy, Jos with a mission to develop and expose young talents, both in character and in learning on a sound quality education.
The Ekiti State FA Executive Committee has resolved that it will take the U-13 team popularly known as Ekiti Baby Bees to the tournament to appreciate their winning the Best Cadet Team Award at recently held Ekiti State FA Merit Awards.
Three of the players of the Ekiti Baby Bees then, Captain, Toheeb Olasunkanmi, Defender Timilehin Solomon, and top scorer of the 2020 edition, Kunle Bamisaye, also made the team of the tournament.
Since the tournament, all of the players who made team to Jos in 2020 have become a better player. Basit Salahudeen was recently voted the best Ekiti FA U13 player for 2021. Salahudeen, Olasunkanmi as well as newbies Ebenezer Olatuyi and Taiwo Adebisi have also shone and the quartets are enjoying sports and academic scholarships under the Ekiti FA Scholarship Scheme.
Th afformentioned was made possible by the exposure, education and growth provided by attending the invitational tournament also featuring teams from across the nation.
The Ekiti State Football Association has called up 25 outstanding U-13 players scouted from its competitions to camp ahead of the 6th edition of Jos Chillin football tournament in Jos, Plateau State.
The players will report for camping on Monday, 15th lasting through Friday 19th of November, 2021. There, the Coach Bolarinwa Idris led technical team to put them through their paces and the most outstanding will be selected for the trip to Plateau.
The management plan to offer a meal per day to the young players during their one week camping.
A budget of seven hundred and thirty three thousand naira (#733,000) has been prepared to ensure a good tournament for the Ekiti Baby Bees at the 6th edition of Jos Chillin Football Tournament.
The budget covers the Pre-tournament camping, transportation of the contingent to Jos, media obligations and allowances for players and officials.
