Sotitobire Church in Akure filled up yesterday after release of Pastor Prophet Alfa Babatunde.
He was sent to prison having been found guilty of kidnapping a one-year-old child, Gold Kolawole, in his church. He was, however, was recently discharged and acquitted by the Court of Appeal sitting in Akure , the state capital.
Prophet Alfa Babatunde who appeared before the congregation of his church for the first time on Sunday after he was set free, urged his members to have the spirit of forgiveness, saying he had forgiven all those behind his crisis.
He said God answered prayers of his people and he received His mercy that was why he was set free, so he had no reason to revenge .
Addressing the congregation, the cleric said, “I have forgiven all the people (detractors). Let me continue with my pastorial work. I urge you to forgive whoever offends you. That is all God told me to tell you .
“I am forgiving them, you too should forgive them. Some people advised me to sue, I said no. Let us forgive them, our matter has been written in the history of Nigeria.
“If God had answered prayers and set me free, who am I to say I want to go to mountain and pray to kill them.”
